Fibrous Casings

Fibrous Casing Securex
Globus Fibrous Casing Securex is designed for better adhesion to the specific food product such as salami or smallgoods. The inner surface of the fibrous casing is specially treated during production so that it adheres to and shrinks with the food product as it dries. Fibrous Casing Securex allows the product to mature while inside the casing. This type of casing also allows for shrinking around the product to produce a tight fit, and as an extra benefit reduces air pockets and spoilage. Fibrous Casing Securex can be supplied as cut pieces, in bundles or reel form.

Fibrous Casing Natural
Globus Fibrous Casing Natural is the best type of fibrous casing for cooked or smoked products such as smallgoods and hams. This type of casing sticks to the product and reduces product movement once inside the packaging. Fibrous Casing Natural has an easy release which allows the product to be taken out easily and efficiently and is considered to be traditional natural casing. Fibrous Casing Natural is also available in cut pieces, bundles or reel form.

Fibrous Casing Zip 'easy peel'
Globus Fibrous Casing Zip is commonly known as 'easy peel' because it is an easy peelable type of fibrous casing. In this type of casing the inner surface of the casing is specially treated during production to make it easily peelable from the encased food product without disrupting the product's surface. This fibrous casing is best suited to food products that can be cooked and smoked such as smallgoods and hams.

Collagen Casing
Collagen Casing, packaging for cooked or fresh sausages: Viscofan casings are made from collagen, a protein found in the connective tissue of animals. The unique aspect of Viscofan caings is the use of their original collagen solution. Viscofan casing is different from other collagen casings because the collagen solution permits the extrusion of stronger membranes. This ensures excellent machinability while maintaining tenderness.

Functional Casing

Colour Casing
Colour case is a non permeable casing internally coated with an edible coloured coating. The coating transfers during cooking imparting a solid colour or a pattern to the outside of the product. The transferred colour is consistently uniform and is available in a range of colours. Various patterns are also available such as netted look and roast.
The process or use is for products that are ready to stuff or dry stuffing. No soaking overstuffing ratio 6% to 10%. The colour casing is available in reel stock, shirred casings, or clipped pieces. Special features of this colour packaging is that it is high-barrier and is able to be Colour Cooked. It can be shipped high-shrink or non-shrink. The processing advantages are that it is easy and clean handling, gives a higher productivity, higher production flexibility, production safety, no soaking, which means less bacteriological risk.

Smoke Casing
Smoke casing imparts a smoked flavour to your product without bleeding. It always generates a uniform product which results in quality assurance and microbiological advantages. There is no weight loss and no muddy liquid in the final package. The casing also has excellent peel-ability.
Smoke casing is ready to stuff and able to be dry stuffed with no soaking. It is available in tubular reel stock or as shirred casing. Caramel Cas is one of Globus' top lines.

Spice Casings
Is the easy, no fuss method of applying spice coatings.
Spice Casings are internally coated casings, consisting of an inner layer of sterilized blended spices, an edible middle carrier layer and a non-edible, easily peeled outer permeable casing, suitable for easy smoking.
During the filling/cooking process, the layer of spices transfer and impregnate onto the surface of the product, coating it with spices.
The outcome is a consistent layer of spice coating which enhances flavour. There is no need for soaking, just fill dry.

Polymer casing is best used for all types of emulsion products and not necessarily only food products. It can also be used for industrials and is available in a range of colours with a high gloss appearance. Polymer Casing – TSC
TSC or polymer casing is used for all types of emulsion products. Polymer casing has superior strength and is able to withstand extreme filling pressure which means that breakages become negligible. While polymer casing is designed for both small and large calibre automatic filling systems, it can also be hand filled. This type of casing has excellent oxygen barrier characteristics meaning that depending on your product you don't need to purchase expensive moisture proof fibrous casing.
Polymer Casing – High Sheen, Attractive Presentation
Polymer Casing is available in a number of different colours including black, brown, blue, amber, light pink, red, gold, white as well as clear. It can be clipped, looped and pre-shirred.
