Drug and Alchohol Policy

Introduction

Globus provides a work environment which aims to ensure the health, safety, respect, and productivity of all employees. The use of drugs or alcohol may impair an individual’s capacity to perform their job safely, efficiently and with respect for work colleagues and customers. The use of such substances may result in the risk of injury or be a threat to the well being of the impaired employee, other employees, customers or persons.

Policy

The policy is that no employee is to commence work, or return to work, while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The purpose of this policy is to maintain a work environment free from the effects of the use of alcohol or drugs. The consequence of breaching this policy are detailed in Dismissal Policy.

Company Vehicles

Company vehicles are not to be driven by anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The Company will accept no liability for any damage to a Company vehicle, injury to any person, or damage to any other property, incurred while the driver of the Globus vehicle is in breach of this policy or of the law. All liabilities shall rest with the driver concerned.

Prescription drugs

If you take prescription drugs please check with your doctor to establish if the use of the drug is likely to impact on work performance. If it is, please obtain the advice in writing and provide this advice to your manager.

Globus will provide information regarding assistance to help employees in the treatment of alcohol or drug use problems. Please contact the Group General Manager for more information

NON-SMOKING POLICY

Globus aims to provide its employees with a healthy work environment. Smoking in the workplace is a recognised hazard and is not permitted in or on any Company premises, or other area designated as non-smoking.

Employees who smoke outside the premises should not do so near the main entrance to the building. They should also ensure that they dispose of cigarette butts and other litter properly and carefully.
